Eight Zero Four marks the first entry of an ongoing project that aims to combine elements of both “structural cinema” and “poetic cinema” into a single genre/mode in the hopes of birthing a form of contemporary filmmaking that can properly deal with the media landscape we now face daily. 804 was the designated area code for phone numbers in central Virginia. The structure is predetermined by the numbers. While the images relate to meaning derived from each number, they are purely poetic and abstract, as if I were painting… which I am.
